We are unable to accept “provisional bookings” or hold rooms without a written confirmation. All bookings must be confirmed via email.
A booking is only confirmed once you have received a written confirmation by email from Chough’s Nest Hotel.
You will be charged in the local currency of the hotel (GBP). All prices include Value Added Tax.

When making a hotel room reservation either by telephone or online via our website booking system, we will require details of a valid Debit or Credit Card at the time of booking and we will confirm your reservation via email.
Third-Party Bookings
If you have reserved a hotel room and made payment via a third-party booking provider or online travel agent (OTA) you must contact them regarding your booking.
Deposits
We do not require a deposit when you book although we do require valid Debit or Credit Card details to secure your booking.
Payment for your stay is due on departure. We do not take any payment prior to your arrival. The total amount due will be presented in your room bill on departure.
Payments
All accounts and any invoices are due for settlement on the day of departure. We accept payment by cash, or via a valid Debit or Credit Card.
We do not accept payment by Amex, Diners, Business Cheque or Personal Cheque.
Cancellation
Cancelling Direct Bookings
If you booked direct with Chough’s Nest Hotel, then we allow free cancellation of your reservation up to 21 days before the date of arrival.
If you cancel within 21 days of your arrival, we will make every reasonable effort to re-let your room. If we are unable to do so, you may be charged up to the full cost of your reservation. Failure to check-in, or ‘no-show’ bookings, will incur the full cost of the reservation.
If you need to change or cancel your reservation, please telephone the hotel directly on 01598 753 315. If you also send an email, your booking is not considered cancelled until we have confirmed receipt.
Cancelling Third-Party Bookings
Bookings made via a third-party booking provider or online travel agent (OTA) can only be cancelled through the third-party provider or booking agent you used and is subject to their terms and conditions or cancellation policies.
Holiday Insurance
It is strongly recommended that you take out adequate holiday insurance. This is to safeguard against loss in the event of sickness, ill-health or any other unforeseen circumstances which may result in you having to cancel your holiday with us.
Access Statement
For information on accessibility, please read our Access Statement.
Parking
The hotel car park has one allocated parking space per room and these are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend guests reverse into a space and leave their registration number with reception so that vehicles can be identified. If you bring an additional car, you will need to park it on the road along North Walk.
The car park is fully flood-lit at night. Vehicles and their contents are parked at the owner’s risk.
Check-in & Check-Out Times
Normal check-in time is from 2:00pm on the day of arrival.
Should you require access to your room before 2:00pm (i.e. you are attending a wedding or event) please telephone 01598 753 315 to advise us of your time of arrival and we will do our best to accommodate your request, although this cannot be guaranteed.
We require guests to vacate their bedrooms by 10:30am on the day of their departure.
Please remember to return your room key to reception on departure.
Dinner at the Hotel
